Finals fever hit the girls hard, this week.  It was elimination round against Nth Heidelberg.  Both teams having beaten each other before, made for an interesting game.

We had a few key players out due to injury.  Also playing 7 girls who were 14yrs or younger.  The first quarter was pretty even.  The pressure from both sides was intense.  Captain Tanaya Preece kicked the first and only goal for us.

That wasn’t enough to spur us on for the rest of the match.  Nth Heidelberg kicked a couple of easy goals.  The Creekers heads went down and so did the team spirit.  Although their endeavor was good, it wasn’t enough to produce the goals needed.

In the second half Nth Heidelberg managed to take control of the game.  Scoring goal after goal.  The girls tried so hard to get the ball in their forward line, but Nth Heidelbergs backline was too strong.

Tears were shared after the game, as the girls realised that their season was over.  Now its time to reflect on the season that was, and to look towards bigger and better things next year.

Best on ground were Megan Purvis whose quick pace took nth Heidelberg by surprise, Renee Grant tacking hard and winning ball, and Jess Franklin played one of her best games.
